Treaty 6 Acknowledgement and Recognition

We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional meeting grounds, gathering place, and travelling route to the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene and Nakota Sioux. We acknowledge all the many First Nations, Métis, and Inuit whose footsteps have marked these lands for centuries.

Acknowledging territory shows recognition of and respect for Indigenous Peoples. It is recognition of their presence both in the past and the present. Recognition and respect are essential elements of establishing healthy, reciprocal relations. These relationships are key to reconciliation.

Reconciliation

As we walk a forward path of Reconciliation, we are paving a way forward building mutual trust and respect with Indigenous Peoples through understanding, respect and recognition. Our path of Reconciliation reflects a deep commitment to continue to learn through an Indigenous way, by having new conversations and being open to new perspectives. We will measure our progress through action as with action is the only way of demonstrating our commitment to Indigenous Inclusion and Reconciliation.

Indigenous Inclusion

Blue Terra is committed to working with Indigenous peoples in a spirit of collaboration and stewardship of Indigenous Inclusion.

We achieve this through strong inclusive relationships built on trust, respect, and integrity. Through business and community led opportunities, Blue Terra fosters the creation of employment and training of our Indigenous partners, providing a positive socioeconomic impact to the individual/s as well as the community they live in.
